We’re bringing the AI Tinkerers builder community to Brisbane for an in-person evening of hands-on demos and builder-to-builder knowledge exchange.

After attending a number of AI Tinkerers events in the US, we were inspired to bring the event to Australia to help foster the sharing of ideas and create a venue for fellow tinkerers to meet.

What is AI Tinkerers?

AI Tinkerers is a meetup series exclusively for active builders shipping products with foundation models and generative AI. Engineers, researchers, prompt engineers, creative technologists, and “vibe-coders” who can:

• Demo working code or a live serverless flow
• Dissect technical decisions in public
• Swap hard-won lessons with peers

  James Skelton, an early-career software engineer at Nexefy, demonstrates pivoting multiple products into a single console with langgraph deep agents, practical agentic workflows, cursor/todo/VFS tool patterns and 2D/3D e-learning prototype code.
• Jeremy Yee - Musings on Context: RAG Meets Personalisation
  Jeremy Yee demonstrates practical context-management patterns for RAG-based personalised chat—using simulated user profiles, metadata routing, context injection, and adaptive prompting, with a live demo and guidance for auditable, deterministic production systems.
• Lyndon Swan - From Guitar Manual to Training Data: Automated Domain-Specific AI Dataset Generation
  JLyndon Swan, a DevOps/cloud engineer, demonstrates a DIY pipeline to auto-generate domain-specific Q&A training data, build FAISS knowledge bases and run AutoRAG with Llama-3 on local GPUs to cheaply scale models.
• Walter Catter - Powering Up Games with AI
  Walter Catter a Data Platforms & AI Specialist at Cognitio Digital, will showcase how he uses AI across the various phases of game development. AI plays an important part in integration, workflows, unique content generation and more helping solve hard problems in modern AR game development.

Demos are capped at 4 minutes, with up to 6 minutes for questions. No pitches! We’re eager to see your raw and exciting WIPs! 🛠️ The best talks are the ones that drive engaging audience participation and questions.
