🤖🔥 First AI Tinkerers meetup in Brisbane 🔥🤖

We’re bringing the AI Tinkerers builder community to Brisbane for an in-person evening of hands-on demos and builder-to-builder knowledge exchange.

After attending a number of AI Tinkerers events in the US, we were inspired to bring the event to Australia to help foster the sharing of ideas and create a venue for fellow tinkerers to meet.

(Photo) The image captures an indoor scene featuring five individuals gathered in a modern space, dominated by a large, colorful wall mural with geometric and circuit board patterns. A prominent screen embedded in the mural displays event information, while another graphic with the same text is visible lower on the wall. Text: AI TINKERERS - BRISBANE MEETUP - SEPTEMBER 11 - 04:30 PM AI TINKERERS - BRISBANE A group of people, an event space, a wall mural, and a digital display. | Indoor, likely an office, co-working space, or event venue. | Five individuals, a vibrant and abstract wall mural with technical motifs (gears, circuit boards), a large screen displaying event details, and a second instance of the event title lower on the wall. | Candid, indoor photography. | Colors: #E02020, #F8B500, #2080E0, #000000, #FFFFFF, #A040F0 Note: This image is a photograph because it captures a real-world scene with people, a physical room, and objects like a wall mural and a screen, rather than being a digital creation, a logo, or a banner in isolation.

Date: 11 September 2025

What is AI Tinkerers?

AI Tinkerers is a meetup series exclusively for active builders shipping products with foundation models and generative AI. Engineers, researchers, prompt engineers, creative technologists, and “vibe-coders” who can:

  • Demo working code or a live serverless flow
  • Dissect technical decisions in public
  • Swap hard-won lessons with peers

If that sounds like you, we want you in the room.

🤖 Connect, Collaborate, and Create 🤖

This meetup is your chance to:

  • Showcase your latest AI projects: Share your work with the community during our demo session. Submit your proposal for a 4-minute presentation and inspire others with your innovative ideas.
  • Network with fellow tinkerers: Meet and collaborate with other active builders, AI engineers, entrepreneurs, and researchers who share your passion for building the future with AI.
  • Learn from industry experts: Gain insights and inspiration from our sponsors and other leading figures in the AI space.

Event Schedule

  • 4:30pm: Registrations

  • Andrew Davis - Citation - AI Reporting Automation
Andrew Davis of 3dot.digital, an ICT Advisor and CISSP leader, shows how Citation automates civil-engineering report tasks—data collection, formatting, image markup and tables—so attendees learn practical workflow, accuracy and security implications.
  • James skelton - Trying to build the cursor of enterprise learning
James Skelton, an early-career software engineer at Nexefy, demonstrates pivoting multiple products into a single console with langgraph deep agents, practical agentic workflows, cursor/todo/VFS tool patterns and 2D/3D e-learning prototype code.
  • Jeremy Yee - Musings on Context: RAG Meets Personalisation
Jeremy Yee demonstrates practical context-management patterns for RAG-based personalised chat—using simulated user profiles, metadata routing, context injection, and adaptive prompting, with a live demo and guidance for auditable, deterministic production systems.
  • Lyndon Swan - From Guitar Manual to Training Data: Automated Domain-Specific AI Dataset Generation
JLyndon Swan, a DevOps/cloud engineer, demonstrates a DIY pipeline to auto-generate domain-specific Q&A training data, build FAISS knowledge bases and run AutoRAG with Llama-3 on local GPUs to cheaply scale models.
  • Walter Catter - Powering Up Games with AI
Walter Catter a Data Platforms & AI Specialist at Cognitio Digital, will showcase how he uses AI across the various phases of game development. AI plays an important part in integration, workflows, unique content generation and more helping solve hard problems in modern AR game development.

Demos are capped at 4 minutes, with up to 6 minutes for questions. No pitches! We’re eager to see your raw and exciting WIPs! 🛠️ The best talks are the ones that drive engaging audience participation and questions.
